In 2023 the CalChamber came out in opposition to AB 83.  Small Business owners in California, members of local Chambers of Commerce, were not consulted before this position was taken.
 
U.S. Election law (52 US Code, Section 30121) is clear: there should be no foreign money in US elections contributed either “directly or indirectly.”
 
When giant multi-national corporations look at California they see a market to control and exploit.  They do not see communities to serve and be part of.
